The young Pakistani right-wing player, Mohammad Hasnain, has signed with the Australian Big Bash League (BBL) team, Sydney Thunder, in the ongoing tournament. Hasnain is the fourth Pakistani player signed to BBL 11. Previously, three Pakistani players, Sed Faridoun, Ahmed Daniyal, and Pakistani ace right-arm pacer, Haris Rauf, have been signed by Melbourne Stars this season. .
Hasnain will be the first Pakistani skipper to represent Sydney Thunder in BBL history. He will join the likes of Saqib Mahmood, Alex Hales, and Sam Billings as overseas players in the team. Hasnain will join his former Quetta Gladiators team, Ben Cutting, in Sydney.
The 21-year-old is one of the fastest swimmers in the world and has represented Pakistan in white cricket for the past few years. He has become the youngest swimmer in the world to take a hat-trick in the T20Is as he achieved a record against Sri Lanka in 2019.
The addition of 21-year-old Hasnain, who once threw 155km / h in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), comes after England's Saqib Mahmood is playing his first BBL match on Sunday and 4th of 22nd. at Thunder’s 53- run win over the Brisbane Heat.
Since he started appearing as a teenager in early 2019, Hasnain has played 18 T20Is and 8 ODIs in Pakistan and was part of their team in this month's limited overs series against the West Indies.
He struggled in his one-match T20I series on December 16 with 0 points from 49 in four overs in Pakistan's seven-wicket victory. But the ODI leg of that trip was postponed due to Covid-19 charges between the West Indies team, which released Hasnain to play for the Thunder.
Hasnain is unique in being the youngest swimmer to ever take a hat-trick in a T20I game, while earning that as a 19-year-old player against Sri Lanka in Lahore.
"He throws fast, easily at 150 km / h," said Thunder allrounder Ben Cutting, who played for Hasnain at Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). “He’s a lovely little kid, and his home team is determined to learn about the game and get out of here and throw it fast.
Mohammad] will love bowling in Australia. We have fast stadiums with big boundaries conditions that allow for a quicker throw than in Pakistan.
Hasnain will add extra firepower to Thunder, a pace throw that has made it difficult to contain the Melbourne Stars' high-octane line-up in two defeats this season. Emerging spinner thrower Tanveer Sangha held the attack together as the Thunder began unabated but Mahmood's installation lit up the fuse in the much-needed Thunder victory in Gabba.
The next Thunder match will be against crosstown rival Sydney Sixers on Boxing Day. He is the fourth overseas player to sign up this year behind England's Alex Hales, Sam Billings and Saqib Mahmood, who has been allowed three in the XI one play.
