It is not only a good training ground for local players but also for coaches and coaches. Saeed Ajmal is such an example and I look forward to working with him this year as I take a new path in my career as Head Coach of Islamabad United. Obviously I'm familiar with most of the guys out there. It has been a great pleasure to be the throwing coach of Hassan, Shadab, Faheem and my colleagues in my position as a swing coach in Pakistan. Together we have been the number 1 T20 team in the world for a long time. I have played franchise cricket around the world and look forward to sharing my experience with the boys of Islamabad United. The franchise believes in unity, empowers young people and believes in data; those are my favorite gems. I thank Mr Ali Naqvi for his confidence and I will do my best to achieve what he expects. At the end of the day we are family again UnitedWeWin. "
Ali Naqvi, Owner of Islamabad United, said, “Azhar was with us in 2016 and his subsequent success as a swing coach is not surprising to anyone he has met at the time. Seeing the progress of many young swimmers in the national team over the past five years is a testament to his performance. Islamabad United believes in training our players and coaches internally, and we are happy that Azhar is back as part of the family. The development of our players has been a source of pride for us, as the former three players of the Emerging Category were part of the Pakistani T20 World Cup team this year, but so is our coaching staff. We started this trip with only one place as part of our coaching staff back in 2016, and we are pleased that our staff this year will be in place, led by Azhar. In addition, Azhar provides an ongoing understanding of the T20 cricket we are proud of, and we are confident that you will do your best to achieve our common goals.
