India tour of South Africa: CSA releases updated schedule starting with Boxing Day Test in Centurion
CAPE TOWN: South Africa and India will kick off a three-match Test series later this month on December 26 with a Boxing Day match in Pretoria, officials confirmed on Monday.
The second test will be in Johannesburg from Jan 3-7, and the third will be in Cape Town from Jan 11-15 on a revised schedule after India asked to arrive a week later than originally planned.
The teams will also compete in the three-match One-Day International Series between Jan 19-23, the first two matches being played in Paarl and the third in Cape Town.
The Test series will be part of the new round of the World Test Championship, with the ODIs competing in the Super League, the 2023 World Cup qualifiers.
The revised plan, which eliminated four Twenty20 Internationals that had been penciled, was approved over the weekend after India expressed doubts about tourism due to the discovery of the Omicron Covid-19 model in South Africa.
