Jadeja attracted the attention of nationalists with her strong display of the 2008-09 Ran Trophy - 42 wickets and 739 runs - and was selected for the ODI series in Sri Lanka. His first international match came in the final match of the series on 8 February 2009 where he scored 60 *, although India lost the match. In 2009 at the World Twenty20, Jadeja was criticized for not scoring enough goals when India lost to England. After incumbent Yusuf Pathan lost form, Jadeja took his place at number 7 in the ODI team in late 2009. In the third ODI against Sri Lanka in Cuttack on 21 December 2009, Jadeja was awarded the Outstanding Player of the Year. the match prize follows four wickets. Her best swing is 4–32. [15]
He also returned to the Indian ODI team in the third ODI against England at The Oval in London. Arriving at the crease with India 58-5 after 19 overs, he got 78, adding 112 with captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and 59 from just 5.1 overs with Ravichandran Ashwin assisting. his team reached 234-7 in 50 overs. He also took 2–42 in his 9 overs and was named the "matchmaker", but England won the game affected by the rain. The way he played in the fourth ODI at Lord was mixed: he pulled out four key sticks by throwing the wrong into the border, but then caught an amazing ball in the final ball.
In the second T20I of the Australian tour in February 2012, Jadeja scored 1/16 in 3 overs and made two runs out of the Australian innings. India went on to win the match and Jadeja was awarded the Man of the Match, especially for his effort to throw the field. [17]
After his fine performance at the start of the 2012-13 Ranji Trophy season, when he scored two 300+ points in 4 games (4/125 and 303 * against Gujarat in Surat; 331 and 3/109 against Railways at Rajkot in Ranji. Trophy 2012-13), he was called up to join the 15-member India Test team to play the fourth Test against England in Nagpur. [18] In his first Test match against England at Nagpur, he threw 70 overs and took 3/11. [19]
During the second ODI in the India-England series in Kochi, Jadeja hit 61 off just 37 balls, taking India to 285. beat England by 127 runs and equalized for the series 1-1. This play benefited Jadeja as the Man of the Match.
He was ranked No.1 batsman in ODI Cricket by the ICC in August 2013. Jadeja is the first Indian swimmer to be at the top level since Anil Kumble, who clashed at the top in 1996. He is the fourth Indian skipper after Kapil Dev, Maninder Singh and Kumble will be ranked number 1. [27]
Jadeja got his first fifty test on 20 July 2014, playing for England and saved the struggling India game at 235/7. He made 68 runs off just 57 balls. His 99-match partnership with Bhuvneshwar Kumar helped India secure 319 points for England.
Jadeja was selected for the 2015 Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand although he was not yet fully fit due to a shoulder injury. He has taken 9 wickets in eight matches. His comeback with the bat was modest, earning only 57 runs in 5 innings. India lost to Australia in the semi-finals. After his poor performance in the next ODI series in Bangladesh, he was dropped from the Indian team.
Jadeja came back strong for the next season of Ranji (2015–16), where he scored 38 wickets in 4 games and 215 runs, including 3 50+ points. His outstanding performance was rewarded with a nomination to the Indian testing team facing South Africa at home. Jadeja helped his team win, by taking 23 wickets in 4 games. He got 109 runs in the series, which included a significant lower batch of orders. Jadeja was included in the Indian limited-overs team who traveled to Australia to play 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is. In the ODIs, Jadeja threw well into the series when he hit more than 3000 runs in 5 games. She took 3 wickets with an economic value of 5.35. He was the second highest wicket-taker in the T20Is, receiving 5 wickets in 3 matches. In the second game of the series, Jadeja made a mistake in his throw to get a crucial wicket for Shane Watson and also sent off Aaron Finch, who was hitting 74 at the time.
He appeared in all four trials against the visiting Australian team. He won 25 wickets and did well over 200 years down the line, making him the standout performer and the winner of the series in the latest series which ended on March 28, 2017.
He and Ravichandran Ashwin became the first two spinner-ranked runners to be ranked 1st in ICC Test Rankings history. [28] On the 5th of August 2017, Jadeja became the fastest swimmer of the left arm to reach 150 wickets in the number of Tests played (32). [29]
On 5 October 2018, he hit the first 100 in the Tests. [30] In March 2019, during the second ODI match against Australia, Jadeja became the third cricketer in India to hit 2,000 runs and take 150 wickets in the ODIs. [31] In April 2019, he was selected to the Indian team for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. [32] [33]
